Rite of Remembrance - Core Rules
Boons are a temporary effect that benefits your character. They can be granted by any number of effects, such as eating a hearty meal, or the blessing of a spirit. A Boon may be tied to a specific character, or impact the scene as a whole
Boons last until you choose to use them up, or take a Full Rest.
Each Boon has a die to represent its potency. If a Boon could assist you in a Trial, you may add its die to your roll, and then step-down that die.
After you use a D4 Boon, it’s benefit fades. Erase it from your sheet, or remove it from the scene.
Burdens are harmful effects that impair your character. To clear a burden depends on what the burden is! The intoxicated Burden will likely go away with a good night’s sleep, but the wounded Burden only goes away when all of your wounds are healed.
“Temporary” Burdens only last in the short-term, and can be easily cleared.
“Lasting” Burdens require more specific conditions to be met to clear them.
Resting allows you to clear Burdens. (See, Rest and Repair)
