Rite of Remembrance - Core Rules
Anatomy of an NPC
- RESOLVE: A track representing the number of successes players will need to overcome or reach an accord with the NPC. In combat, every 5 Wounds taken in a single attack burns 1 box of Resolve. When the track is fully marked, the PCs are victorious, but it is up to the Rune-Keeper to decide how that manifests.
- ATTRIBUTES: The same 4 attributes that PCs have, but represented with a number. These numbers are used as the Risk of Trials against this NPC. Which Attribute is used is listed for each of the NPC’s Actions, or up to RK discretion.
- GUARD: The NPC’s current ability to defend themselves. Works just like PC Guard.
- RESISTANCE AND WEAKNESS: How the NPC handles different damage types.
- EQUIPMENT: Functions the same as it does for PCs, with one exception: When an NPC successfully attacks a PC, roll the Quality of their weapon to inflict that much damage.
- ACTIONS: An NPC may take one of these actions on their turn in combat, or when triggered by an event, such as the RK spending Doom. Each action lists the Attribute used for it.
