Rite of Remembrance - Core Rules
Experience
You gain 1 Experience (XP) whenever you suffer a setback.
You may spend experience to advance your character in a number of ways, as listed below.
At any time:
- PRAY FOR GUIDANCE (1XP): Draw a card.
During a Rest:
- DEVELOP A BOND (5XP): Cultivate kinship with someone close to you, and play out a scene that showcases this development. Then, permanently step-up one of your Bonds, or create a new Bond (d4). Either character can Develop a Bond, which steps-up their shared die.
- TRAINING (5XP): - Increase your maximum Guard by 2.
- CONDITIONING (5XP): - increase your maximum Vigor by 1.
- MASTERY (5XP): - Gain a new Mastery relevant to your recent experiences.
- AWAKENING (10XP): - Gain a new Talent from your Calling.
- TEACHING (15XP): You may teach one Talent you know to one of your Bonds, as long as the Bond is a D8 or higher. Each character may contribute their XP to this cost, but a character may only learn one Talent from any Calling that is not their own. [ONLY AT MEMORY STONE?]

Whenever you make a new character, that character starts with unspent XP equal to the number of active Memory Stones.
